Over deze opleiding
The Master of Arts in Multimodal Communication, a degree track within Communication and Information Studies, is a one-year program taught in English.
Humans have been using multimodal communication since prehistoric times (making sounds combined with gestures). Yet now communication with digital technology makes us more aware of how powerful it is; think of the difference between a traditional phone call and a conversation on Skype, FaceTime, etc. In this MA track, you learn how multimodal communication works: how different forms of it are composed (e.g. in various genres), and how these forms allow for different kinds of communication (e.g., by making abstract ideas visible or audible, via metaphors and symbols). Attention is given to how different modes of communication can reflect, and also lead to, alternate means of thinking about a topic – such as by integrating concepts together or by framing them separately.
