The Geographical Information Management and Applications (GIMA) programme is a broad programme in the GIS field. It is about applying and managing geo-information based on knowledge of geo-information technology. As a future geo-information specialist, you will need to find solutions to various spatial challenges: How to make the development plans of a city or municipality easily accessible digitally and visually? How to combine observation data and pre-existing knowledge to assess the current situation of an archaeological site? How to manage information within organisations, keep it up to date and how to use the information properly? Which measures need to be taken, where and on which scale, to deal with climate change and related phenomena? The programme teaches, among other things, how to use state-of-the-art geo-information technology, where to apply geo-information in application fields, and how to manage geo-information in projects and organisations.
