Data Science in Engineering

Data science is a multi-disciplinary domain, where computer science and mathematics are complemented with human-technology interaction, business models and operations management expertise and skills.

This is a joint master program of Mathematics and Computer Science which can be studied as a special track in either the Computer Science and Engineering Master or the Industrial and Applied Mathematics Master.

The Master's degree program Data Science in Engineering takes 2 years, with 4 quartiles per year. The program consists of the following components:
* Selection of 6 courses out of list of core courses
* Electives
* Internship
* Final project

Core courses
Process Mining, Data Mining, Algorithms, Visualization, Real-life data challenges, Statistics for Big Data, Statistical Learning Theory, and Probability and Stochastic Processes.

Internship
You will get the opportunity to do an internship of three months with a company or a research institute, in The Netherlands or abroad.

Final project
The final project of your program spans the last six months of the program. You will specialize in a single subject and demonstrate that you are able to carry out a research project independently, possibly in collaboration with a partner in industry.
